General questions

We process solely wool from Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South America. The wool is of course mulesing-free.
The term new wool refers to the exclusive use of wool from living animals which has been harvested through shearing.

Where possible and upon agreement, we can gladly repair any of your loden products that have become a little long in the tooth or replace wearing parts. Please contact us in advance.
Depending on its use, loden lasts longer or shorter. It’s a myth that loden is indestructible. Every loden has a different use by which durability is measured. A piece that is only worn on special occasions certainly lasts longer than an everyday jacket. Our loden is a natural material that is not indestructible, in the areas that rub against each another it also wears off. We offer repairs on site. Please contact us early enough to assure a repair is still possible.
Our T-shirts are made from fine knitted merino wool. The wearing comfort is unbeatable, but the knitted fabric is delicate and can easily get damaged. We are happy to repair small holes for you. Please note, when you wait too long and the holes have become too large, we can no longer offer a repair for you.
Our entire collection is 100% made in Austria - from the raw wool to the finished garment. Fulled and sewn in Austria!
Unfortunately, this is a question that you can only answer yourself, as everyone feels differently. Of course, we would describe our woollen blankets as extra soft ;)

Cleaning and care

The care is very easy. Air your loden product regularly in the fresh air. Brush out stains using vinegar water and a clothes brush. All products without inner lining can also be carefully washed by hand. It is important to wash your loden item in lukewarm water with a mild detergent or curd soap and rinse at the same temperature. The wool does not tolerate large temperature differences.
There's no need to wash the merino T-shirt after every use. Simply air your shirt in the fresh air. If you do wish to wash it though, you should wash the shirt by hand in lukewarm water using a mild detergent and rinse at the same temperature. Cleaning wool in a machine is very delicate. It’s best to use the machine’s wool cycle and put the shirt in a laundry bag so the fine knitted fabric will not get damaged.
We recommend to regularly air the wool blanket. Brush out stains with vinegar water or curd soap using a rough scrubbing brush. If you do wish to wash the wool blanket, you should wash the blanket by hand in the bathtub using lukewarm water with a mild detergent or curd soap and rinse at the same temperature. Wring it out well and put it on a clothes horse to dry. To fluff up the blanket again you can use a scrubbing brush, which you can brush against the grain and then smooth it out again with the grain.
Beat your wool carpet well and brush it out with vinegar water or curd soap. Alternatively, lay it in the snow in winter and beat well afterwards. Small carpets can also be washed in the washing machine using the wool cycle. After the machine wash, roll it up and leave it like that to eliminate creases before you lay it over a drying rack to dry.
Vinegar water or curd soap are proven cleaning detergents which can be found in almost every household. For stains that are difficult to remove, it’s best to moisten these, rub with curd soap and leave to take effect. Repeat if necessary and rinse thoroughly.
The woollen blanket or woollen garment becomes electrically charged when the air in the room is too dry. This is usually the case in winter. Anyone with long hair knows the problem. Simply hang the woollen blanket or woollen garment in the bathroom during a hot shower or in the fresh air overnight. This will allow the wool fibres to absorb moisture and the problem should be solved.
Yes, our woollen blankets are specially fluffed with natural thistles. It is quite normal for pilling to occur during use. If this happens sooner or later depending on use, it is best to brush the woollen blanket with a root brush (so that the fibres lie down). The brush only removes the superfluous nodules and the woollen blanket becomes beautiful again. A little tip: This also works the other way round. If the blanket is flattened after prolonged use, you can brush it against the grain. The fibres will stand up again and the blanket will be nice and fluffy again.
Unfortunately, moths are gourmets. Nevertheless, we have deliberately decided against chemical moth protection. Here are a few tips, but unfortunately they are not a cure-all. Probably the best moth protection is to wear the garment as often as possible, because then the moth has no time to nest. Another important measure is to air woollen clothing regularly. The classics can be used to prevent moths: Lavender, cedarwood (woods with lots of essential oils). Our favourite remedy is simply vinegar water, which can be sprayed or applied with a brush or cloth. The odour disappears quickly for humans, but the moth does not like it. Mix the vinegar water as follows: 1 litre of lukewarm water and 1/8 litre to 1/4 litre of vinegar (normal white vinegar).

If an infestation does occur, the affected product should be aired out and preferably steamed with a steam iron. Moth infestation is not a sign of poor quality or impurity! It is rather a sign of quality, as moths do not eat anything that is harmful to them.

We can also repair moth holes (only to a certain extent). Please contact us by phone. Please note that we only offer repairs for products produced by us.
A similar procedure applies here as for moth prevention. Regularly moving the fabric and including scents such as lavender or cedar wood, as well as spraying the wool product with vinegar water or applying it with a cloth or brush are recommended measures. It is also important that the storage location is dry and protected from light so that the fabric does not fade. In addition, woollen blankets or loden garments can be stored in an airtight bag.
